
Matthew Wight , baritone
A native of Orange County, California, Matthew studied voice at Chapman University and the New England Conservatory of Music. Recently, he has performed with Boston Opera Collaborative as Zuniga in Carmen, Reverend Hale in The Crucible, and Figaro in The Marriage of Figaro, and with MetroWest Opera as Dr. Gregg in Gallantry, Buff in The Impresario, and Papageno in The Magic Flute. Matthew returns to Boston Opera Collaborative this fall to sing Bhaer in Little Women. In addition to singing with Metropolitan Chorale, Matthew sings with the Libella Quartet, who recently presented a program of contemporary music at the 99.5 All Classical Festival at the WGBH studios in Brighton. Matthew's concert repertoire includes Mozart's Requiem, Fauré's Requiem, Duruflé's Requiem, Saint-Saëns Christmas Oratorio, and J.S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio and Cantata 79. Matthew is in his third season with Metropolitan Chorale/Brookline Chorus.
